The series prequel, 1923, featuring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford, and portrays the Dutton family’s experiences, the expansion to the West, Prohibition, and the Great Depression. This compelling series is not only commended for its compelling plot, but for locations where it was shot as well. Here’s a breakdown of where 1923 Season 2 was filmed:
1. Austin, Texas
Austin, Texas, city is the primary location for 1923 Season 2. Production started in Austin in July 2024 and the Austin Film Commission signed off on the shoot. The city of production will have major gains with the production affecting the economy by approximately $50 million. Currently, Austin, Texas, is considered as the new Hollywood because a large number of movies are filmed in this city. Among these, fans of Fear the Walking Dead will have a chance to recognize ATX Film Studios as one of the primary spots for shooting. The production will also be spending millions on local wages and other non-wage expenses, thereby further cementing Austin as a crucial part of the process of creating 1923.
2. Lockhart, Texas
Just outside of Austin, viewers can also find Lockhart which is also featured in 1923 Season 2. Lockhart is a historic town and that helps to create the atmosphere of the early twentieth-century, which is the subject of the series. The town’s picturesque layout and old-school buildings help to create the environment for the Dutton family to live through their various difficulties.
3. San Antonio, Texas
San Antonio is pre-programmed to be one of the leading filming cities of the second season of 1923. Most of the shooting will take place on the streets between Pecan Street and Houston Street, and on Travis Street as well. 5. Butte, Montana
Although most of the show is filmed in Texas, Butte, Montana, remains an important part of producing 1923. The beauty of the state, with large fields and areas of mountains perfectly reflects the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch. Yellowstone as well as its precursors, 1883, have been for a few times filmed in Butte which contributes to the shows chronological and geographic consistency of the flashback of the Dutton family Montana background.
