Peter Moffat made the legal drama show 61ST STREET. The first episode aired on AMC on April 10, 2022. Even though a second season was made, AMC chose not to air it in January 2023. Luckily, The CW bought the show in May 2023 and brought it back to viewers. In July 2023, Season 1 came back on The CW app, and in October 2023, it came back on TV. The second season will start on July 22, 2024.
The show is about Moses Johnson, a talented black high school athlete played by Tosin Cole who gets caught up in Chicago’s broken criminal justice system. Someone wrongly thinks Moses is in a gang, so he and his lawyer, Courtney B. Vance’s Franklin Roberts, fight to clear his name. Aunjanue Ellis, Mark O’Brien, Holt McCallany, Andrene Ward-Hammond, and Bentley Green are also in the cast.
