911 Lone Star Season 4 Episode 15 Recap
The majority of the hour focused on a kidney harvesting ring in Austin, with which Grace had a close relationship when one of the victims she had aided over the phone ultimately died in the hospital. As is the situation with so many women of color, Grace felt compelled to take action and track down the man who stole her kidney after police treated the young woman like a suspect than an innocent victim. While Carlos and Det Washington tracked down and arrested the illegal surgeon, Grace arranged a meeting with the man she suspected of enticing and injecting the victim. An underground operator out to find a kidney harvester makes for a stressful first date, but imagine the tension multiplied by three. The audience had good reason to be concerned for Grace after the harvester pursued her into the restroom and no one appeared to be coming to assist her. By the time grumpy Det McGregor (played by Adam Baldwin) arrived, she had successfully switched their beverages without him noticing.
We then cut to Owen and T.K. happily getting to know Owen’s estranged brother (played again by real-life brother Chad Lowe), who reveals that he is experiencing the early symptoms of Huntington’s Disease, a debilitating disorder that is currently making it difficult for him to concentrate and remember people’s names. As he put it, “That’ll be the ballgame” when he loses the capacity to move and swallow. It gets worse: Owen’s brother said their illness runs in the family, so Captain Strand probably has a genetic predisposition to develop it as well. Maybe in the not-too-distant future.
