‘911’ Season 6 Episode 12 Recap

Wendell was about to expose Winding Path’s abusive methods when he agreed to get an injection from Carrie Walsh (Alicia Coppola) intended to save Tamara (Diana Lu) but which ultimately resulted in his immediate death, as Bobby learned through Tamara’s explanation of events. Bobby learns that Wendell was assisting her plant a bug within the hospital so that she could expose the director’s wrongdoings after speaking with a patient who was implicated in his death. As had been hinted at in previous episodes, the institution was keeping patients on narcotics in order to keep them engaged in the program for as long as possible.  After confronting the facility’s directors about their crimes, Bobby and his companion are trapped in their burning home and fight for their lives. To the delight of viewers, Bobby was able to flee the hospital and rescue the life of the patient who had been aiding him despite being without his firefighting gear and without his team’s support.

Thankfully, Wendell had already installed a covert surveillance camera in the space where it took place, and this camera was able to withstand the fire that Carrie Walsh and Trey Walsh (Chris Johnson) started when they decided to destroy Winding Path. Wendell was compelled to use medicines to maintain his cover after he and the patient were discovered snooping about the director’s office, as shown in flashbacks. It was terrible that he overdosed on narcotics, but the facility moved him and hid the truth about his death. The con couple made an attempt to pin the fire on Bobby, but the footage, in conjunction with Tamara’s incriminating evidence, was sufficient to exonerate the captain and clear his name.

In a surprising turn of events, the facility’s leaders attempted to accuse Bobby of lighting the fire, leading to his arrest at the end of the intense action sequence. Bobby’s long-suffering pal awoke at the perfect time to tell Athena what really went down in the house. When the investigation was over, the facility’s directors were arrested and the situation was brought to a satisfactory close. As an added bonus, viewers got to witness Bobby’s personal growth as the program concluded with him trying to inspire someone else to begin their own sober path.
