911 Season 8 Episode 6 Recap: Buck and Tommy Break up! Explained!

911 season 8 episode 6 Recap: Did Buck and Tommy break up? The sixth episode of Season 8 of 9-1-1, “Confessions,” was less serious than recent episodes, but it still made me feel a lot. The episode had a lot of strange and funny moments that gave fans a chance to catch their breath while still delivering powerful moments. One of the main plots was Buck and Tommy’s shocking breakup.

911 Season 8 Episode 6 Recap

The episode starts with a very strange and funny emergency call. Trent calls 9-1-1 to say that his wife Celeste has taken the ashes of his dead mother. Athena rushes to help because she thinks there might be a kidnapping going on, but all she finds is Celeste trying to protect a vase that is important to her. It turns out that Trent only cares about one thing: the vase is very valuable. In a poetic twist, Trent drops the vase, ruining his plans to make money off of his mother’s ashes. This makes for a funny beginning to the episode.

Eddie (Ryan Guzman), one of the main characters, decides to go to confession for the first time in 23 years. He thinks about his late wife and how afraid he is that he will fail his son Christopher. Eddie starts to accept and forgive himself when Father Brian, the priest, gently reminds him that he deserves happiness in his life. The scenes between Eddie and Father Brian were moving because they showed how Eddie struggles with guilt inside, and Guzman gave a moving performance.

On the sixth month anniversary of their relationship, Buck (Oliver Stark) and Tommy (Lou Ferrigno Jr.) run into an unexpected problem. The couple has a good time on their night out, but things get interesting at dinner. Buck realizes he’s attracted to a woman, sparking confusion as he explores his bisexuality. when Tommy talks about his past. He tells Buck that he dated Abby Clark (Connie Britton), who was his ex from Season 1. This makes Buck uncomfortable. During a moment of self-reflection, Buck realizes that he still has some feelings about Abby and the way he interacts with other people.

Later, Buck tells his sister Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) about how he feels and says that he thinks Tommy lied to Abby in the past. Josh, Buck’s coworker, adds some insight by saying that Tommy grew up in a less accepting time and had a hard time with who he was, which was normal before Glee. This makes Buck think about what he thinks about Tommy and forces him to make a big choice.

Buck tells Tommy that he wants to move in with her to take their relationship to the next level. But Tommy has doubts and decides not to go through with it in the end. He tells Buck that he loves him very much, but he doesn’t see himself as his “last” love. Only his “first.” As they say goodbye, this touching and sad moment breaks Buck’s heart.

A very gross emergency in the history of 9-1-1 is also talked about in the show. In the middle of divorce mediation, Walter, the husband, sneezes so hard that his intestines spill out, which leads to a strange accident. This scene is based on a real medical case. The 118 comes quickly to help and stabilizes Walter until he can be taken to the hospital. During all the chaos, Walter’s cheating wife says the best one-liner of the episode: “My cheating husband just spilled his guts.” Irony strikes again at the end of the story as Walter tries to win back his wife but is caught by the truth and his sneezes.

In the last few scenes, the focus shifts to Maddie and Chimney (Kenneth Choi), who are thinking about whether or not to have more children. They both feel ready for another child after having an honest conversation about Maddie’s struggles with postpartum depression. Maddie tells Chimney she’s already pregnant right before the episode ends, which is a big surprise.

Eddie, meanwhile, is moved by Father Brian’s words to do something happy, so he shaves off his mustache. Eddie slides across the floor in his underwear and socks as a joke about the movie Risky Business. He is loving his new outlook on life. Buck comes in to help him feel better after breaking up with his girlfriend and interrupts his carefree moment. They have a peaceful moment together on the couch, which shows how close they are as friends.

Oliver Stark, who plays Buck, and Tim Minear, who runs the show, talked about the emotional turns of the episode and Buck’s (Oliver Stark) surprise breakup with Tommy (Lou Ferrigno Jr.) in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Oliver Stark talked about how Buck starts to feel weird after noticing that he likes a woman at the anniversary dinner. He said that Buck is still trying to figure out what it means to be bisexual, and that this moment helps him learn more about himself. Then Buck finds out that Tommy was engaged to Abby, who used to be his girlfriend. This makes his feelings more complicated and causes him to have his usual “knee-jerk” reaction.

The show’s co-creator, Tim Minear, said that putting Tommy and Abby together wasn’t planned very far ahead of time, but he thought it was an interesting twist. Buck’s reaction to Tommy’s past with Abby, he said, shows how protective he is, especially around people he cares about a lot.

Following Maddie and Josh’s suggestions, Buck makes up his mind that he wants Tommy to move in. Stark said, Tommy broke up with her because he was afraid of getting hurt again. Tommy have to think about their future and make a hard choice for their own health after Buck makes an —unexpected proposal.

Stark gave a hint, Buck his attempts to move on might be hiding some unresolved pain, which set up some interesting character moments to come.
