As Gary prepares to leave the hospital, Peter Benoit offers him a deal. He pledges to lie to the authorities about the attack if he takes down his daughter’s podcast accusing Peter of being a sexual predator. Gary and Christopher both decline the offer without hesitation. When Christopher tells his wife Georgia about the assault, she accepts it without comment, but Sophie is not proud of her father and feels obligated to take the podcast down, believing that if Christopher went to jail, it would devastate Layla’s mother. In the meantime, Jane confides in Maggie about the real reason she had to let go of Nick. She was emotionally hampered by her disease.
Katherine’s chance meeting with Shanice turns into a date, but Shanice is moving to Miami, which makes Katherine even more nervous. Eddie speaks with his therapist, Russ, for much-needed insight into his Nicole problem. He eventually gives Nicole the keys to his new apartment so that she can leave her violent relationship. Instead, Eddie would join Gary. Rome presents his documentary to his father’s Men’s Bible club, to which he receives a standing ovation. Shanice eventually gives Regina a job on her set as a caterer. This would necessitate a six-month relocation to Miami. Regina chooses to bring Valerie along with her. In the end, the characters experience a six-month time jump.
