ABC Rating: Thursday Night’s Top 3 Shows ‘Station 19’ , ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ & ‘A Million Little Things’

With its 3-hour drama lineup, ABC dominated Thursday in Total Viewers (8.5 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.8/8) and claimed the night’s Top 3 programs with “Station 19,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “A Million Little Things.”

The Net increased its winning advantages over the No. 2 network to 52% in Total Viewers in the L+3 numbers (8.5 million vs. 5.6 million for Fox) compared to 24% in L+SD and to 80% in Adults 18-49 (1.8/8 vs. 1.0/5 for NBC and Fox tied) compared to 50% in L+SD. ABC won Thursday for the 4th straight week in Total Viewers and the 9th consecutive week among Adults 18-49. With all three of its dramas delivering week-to-week gains, the Net grew over the prior week by 13% in Adults 18-49 to match a Thursday season high.

With the night’s Top 3 gainers, ABC stood as Thursday’s No. 1 gainer in TV playback in Adults 18-49, growing by +0.6 rating points from L+SD to L+3.

“Station 19” (8:00-9:00 p.m. – 9.0 million and 1.7/8 in AD18-49):

“Station 19” built over the prior week by 7% in Total Viewers (9.0 million vs. 8.4 million) and by 21% among Adults 18-49 (1.7/8 vs 1.4/8) to post its best performance since its season opener – since 1/23/20. In fact, “Station 19” delivered its 2nd most-watched telecast ever, behind only January’s season three premiere. In addition, “Station 19” improved by more than 20% over its comparable year-ago telecast (7.4 million and 1.4/6 on 3/21/19) in both Total Viewers (+22%) and Adults 18-49 (+21%). The ABC drama stood as Thursday’s No. 2 program in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, behind only ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy.”

ABC’s “Station 19” stood as Thursday’s No. 3 playback gainer from L+SD to L+3 in Adults 18-49 (+0.4 rating points-tie).

“Grey’s Anatomy” (9:00-10:01 p.m. – 9.6 million and 2.3/10 in AD18-49):

“Grey’s Anatomy” grew week to week by 7% in Total Viewers (9.6 million vs. 9.0 million) to post its most-watched telecast in 8 weeks (since 1/23/20) and by 10% among Adults 18-49 (2.3/10 vs. 2.1/11) to tie its highest-rated telecast of the season. The ABC drama stood as Thursday’s No. 1 program for the 9th week in a row in Adults 18-49 and also won the night in Total Viewers.

Soaring by +0.8 rating points from L+SD to L+3, “Grey’s Anatomy” was Thursday’s No. 1 gainer in TV playback in Adults 18-49.

“A Million Little Things” (10:01-11:00 p.m. – 6.8 million and 1.3/7 in AD18-49):

“A Million Little Things” built for the 3rd straight week in Total Viewers (+3% – 6.8 million vs. 6.6 million) to an 8-week high (since 1/23/20) and held even with the prior week among Adults 18-49 (1.3/7). The ABC drama emerged as Thursday’s No. 3 program in Adults 18-49 in L+3 (1.3/7-tie), moving up from No. 7 in L+SD, and in Total Viewers (6.8 million), jumping up from No. 11 in L+SD. “AMLT” ranked as the No. 1 program in the Thursday 10:00 p.m. hour for the 7th consecutive week among Adults 18-49.

With a lift of +0.6 rating points from L+SD to L+3, “A Million Little Things” was Thursday’s No. 2 playback gainer in Adults 18-49.
