All American Homecoming Episode 11 Recap
Since Simone returned from her fall vacation, everything has changed for her. She’s still grieving from her dramatic breakup with Jordan, which she kept hidden from her aunt and friends on this week’s All American. Simone and Damon’s awkwardness continues as they respect each other’s boundaries. Simone utilizes her tennis match and her classes to distract herself. Damon notices something is wrong with Simone and appears to be seeking answers. Simone, to the point of tears, advises Damon that they should both keep working on themselves and maintain things the same. Damon disagrees, but he has little choice but to accept Simone’s decision. In a flashback sequence, Celine confesses to JR how Damon is her son, who is still taken aback. When Damon found out he was JR’s kid, he recreated his chat with his mother. Damon is JR’s by DNA, his father didn’t want to raise another child, and JR was sick, according to JR’s mother. Damon and Simone’s relationship is still tense. Nate checks on her and tells her that she can’t avoid the pain. Ralph pays Amara a visit and requests information on Marcus in preparation for an interview.
At tennis practice, Thea complements Simone, and the two make up. Damon was shouted at by Coach Marcus for his bad pitching performance. Damon rejects JR’s mother’s call and asks Thea out on a date instead. Marcus becomes enraged after a viral video of JR suffering a cold becomes viral, and he warns him not to become a social media sensation. On his date with Thea, JR informs Damon of the news, and he explodes. Thea warns him against jeopardizing his bond with his best buddy. JR is concerned about his family and his coach. Nate offers to be his social media manager to assist him. Next time, he captures the coach yelling at JR. After Simone wins her tennis match, a teammate advises she phone Jordan to tell him the good news. She sobs in Damon’s arms before stopping herself. Damon and JR discuss Marcus and seek Amara’s assistance. When she visits Marcus, he lashes out at her as well. The episode concludes with Simone and Nate holding a funeral in which they bury all of Simone’s memories of Jordan, complete with flashbacks to all of their interactions. As Damon and Thea become an official couple, Damon and Simone continue to avoid each other. Amara hears that another college, Willis Cobb University, is considering merging with Bringston, potentially putting Bringston out of business.
