The CW’s All American is back after a surprising one-week break, and fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that Season 7, Episode 10 is set to return on Monday, April 14, 2025, in its regular 8 p.m. ET slot. Titled “Just a Friends,” the episode promises some major emotional and athletic developments as the Beverly Hills High Eagles prepare for their final game of the season.

“Just a Friend” Episode 10 ( Written by Robert D. Doty and Directed by Jes Macallan) goes into more detail about how the Beverly Hills High football team is changing. The decision by Coach Cassius (played by Deric Augustine) to put the starting lineup on the bench creates tension. Nathaniel McIntyre plays KJ, who stands up and fights against the decision because she thinks the players should be able to finish what they started.
At the same time, Amina (Ella Simone Tabu) comes back from Baltimore with a job: to get Khalil (Antonio J. Bell) out of trouble. Because of online threats and problems inside himself, Khalil finally asks Coop (Bre-Z) for help. As they talk about their shared pain and gain, their bond grows stronger.
In other news, Layla (Greta Onieogou) helps Breonna and Coop figure out how to deal; with their feelings and KJ and Tori’s relationship reaches a turning point. The way Khalil acts also surprises Amina. This could be the start of a turning point for both of them. One last surprise: Coach Cassius and KJ get a visitor out of the blue, which could change things as the season comes to a close.

TACKLING PROBLEMS — The Eagles are nearing a record as the last game of the season approaches. When Cassius decides to bench his starters, KJ fights for their right to play. Amina returns from Baltimore, and she’s determined to save Khalil from the threats he’s facing. Khalil finally turns to Coop for help. Elsewhere, Layla helps Breonna and Coop find their way. Meanwhile, KJ and Tori’s relationship reaches a turning point, and Amina is surprised by Khalil’s actions. Lastly, Cassius and KJ get an unexpected visit. ALL AMERICAN SEASON 7 EPISODE 9 RECAP: SPENCER RETURNS
The previous episode marked a powerful return—Daniel Ezra made his comeback as Spencer James, both in front of and behind the camera as director. And he didn’t return alone—Da’Vinchi, who plays Darnell, also joined the mix.
The episode was filled with nostalgia, especially for fans of “Spelivia”—Spencer and Olivia’s story. But it wasn’t all about the past. Tension rose as Coop wrestled with guilt over the past, especially the death of Amina’s mother, Mo. Coop’s personal struggles made her question her role in Spelivia’s life, even after they ask her to be godmother to their twins.

But instead of hitting the strip club, Spencer redirects them to the arcade for some friendly (yet meaningful) competition. Teamed up to resolve tension, the boys bond through games, though not without conflict.
Khalil is distracted by threats and his own fears. Jordan and Cassius clash over rankings, and KJ and Khalil have their own heated moment. But by the end, everyone steps up for each other. When Khalil is cornered by gang members, Spencer and the group rally behind him, showing that brotherhood still matters most.
Coop spends most of the episode in deep reflection. Haunted by the past, especially Preach’s death and her role in Amina’s life, she questions whether she’s fit to be in the twins’ lives. But after seeing Khalil’s struggle and talking with Spencer, she begins to find clarity.
By the episode’s end, Coop embraces her growth and decides to be honest with Amina. She accepts that her past mistakes don’t define her future and agrees to be godmother to the twins. It’s a major moment of healing, not just for her, but for Amina, who has also been trying to find her own peace.
