ALL AMERICAN SEASON 7: IS LAYLA PREGNANT?

All American 7x02

The seventh season of All American began with a trip back to high school. This took us back to familiar ground while also showing us how Crenshaw and Beverly interact in new ways. After a quick change of pace in Episode 2, fans had more questions than answers about the personal lives of their favorite characters, especially Layla Keating (Greta Onieogou). What everyone wants to know: Is Layla pregnant?

Fans were kept guessing as the episode hinted at a big change in Layla and Jordan Baker’s (Michael Evans Behling) lives. But then there was a surprise ending. In order to solve this pregnancy mystery, let’s look at what happened.

THE PREGNANCY SCARE: LAYLA’S FALSE POSITIVE

Layla had a scary and emotional moment in Episode 2 when she thought she might be ‘pregnant’. She felt a lot of different emotions at the thought of it. Layla began to face the truth about what it would mean to have a child at this point in her life and career. Even though Jordan was happy for them. it was clear that the thought of having a child caught both of them off guard.

At first, Layla’s pregnancy test seemed to confirm the news. She then had to think about what this sudden change could mean for her future. LaLa has always been driven and ambitious, but the thought of having a child made her rethink her place in the world. Was she all set for such a big change?

The pregnancy test was a false positive, which was good. It was a huge relief for Layla, but it also taught her a lot. The experience helped her understand that she wasn’t ready to become a parent just yet. Layla wasn’t upset; instead, she realized she had more dreams and goals to reach before she could settle down.

THE REAL TWIST: OLIVIA IS PREGNANT

Just as Layla fans were taking a deep breath, All American threw her another curveball. Lisa wasn’t expecting, but Olivia Baker (Samantha Logan) was! Olivia’s pregnancy was a surprise, and it changed the course of her story.

Spencer James (Daniel Ezra) and Olivia’s relationship has changed a lot since she got pregnant. Spencer wasn’t in this episode, so we missed seeing how he responded to the big news. But, according to the co-showrunners, Olivia’s pregnancy will be very important in the next episodes.

The writers wanted to add this twist later in the season, but they chose to do it earlier to see how it would change Olivia and Spencer’s lives. Olivia’s pregnancy is likely to test her in ways we haven’t seen before, adding new layers to her character and to her relationship with Spencer.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR BRYAN AND LAYLA?

This scare woke Layla up. She had to think about her goals and priorities because of it. Rather than seeing it as a setback, Layla embraced the experience as a chance to push forward and achieve even more. At the same time, Jordan is still becoming an adult as he deals with the difficulties of coaching at Crenshaw and figuring out how to be a good mentor and leader.

Layla and Jordan can take a deep breath for now because they know they won’t be parents just yet. But Olivia’s pregnancy is the main storyline right now, so All American fans can expect a lot of drama.
