Karie reveals that the cast iron saucepan she is using to cook the Jamuns is causing her teeth to darken. In hopes that this will help, she makes tooth powder out of horsetail. Later she goes hunting musk. She returns without food. Karie’s first muskrat hunt failed, but she won’t give up. she performs a song about the locale. Then the latter focuses on catching a musket. Karie waits for movement on the riverside. She waits attentively while bubbles form. Karie shoots a muskrat on the shore. Karie finishes her kill with her knife. At dinner, She roasts muskrat at camp and thanks the animal for its life. Snow falls as she eats. Karie celebrates Halloween as a muskrat with pelvic bone spectacles. She makes a muskrat-fur puppet.
Tom Garstang‘s fall down the tree still hurts him in this episode. His back hurts, and he couldn’t get comfortable last night. Tom worries he’ll hurt himself if he falls again. He’s lost 38 pounds since the first day, but a beaver will fill his belly and let him rest. Tom searches for a beaver early in the morning but failed. At his shelter, he boils Icelandic moss. he’s just eaten lichens and bunchberries. Despite needing to rest his back, he seals chimney cracks with clay. He falls again. This fall hurts his back and knee. he bandages his injured knee. He can’t even gather firewood. Tom finally departs the show. He says the location touched aspects of him he didn’t know existed and appreciates Labrador’s help.
Teimojin Tan holds up his second squirrel, but he’s not done hunting. He’s been hearing lots of land animal noise. He follows the grouse’s call. With his first shot, he strikes down the bird and returns to his shelter. Teimojin discusses Samhain around Halloween, saying it’s an excellent time to contact the dead. Teimojin burns diamond willow fungus to honor his ancestors.
Adam prepares for Halloween. This year he made a grouse costume with a beak and feather headpiece. Adam’s creative tarp-and-charcoal bill impresses him. Adam makes wind-resistant window shutters from the dock. The shutters seem professionally crafted thanks to his carpentry talents. Adam is very creative. As Halloween approaches, he takes on the roles of both the homeowner and the trick-or-treater. Adam feels lonely and chooses to stay occupied. He’s happy to find a new river. First shot kills a hare in the woods. He’s making hare stew. It’s his first wild hare. Adam eats 800-calorie snowshoe hares. Adam says it was the challenge’s most interesting day.
49-year-old Jessie works on Hodge Podge Lodge. She works with a burping stomach. She’s been nauseated for a few days but needs to check on the rabbit hair and moss her walls. she can’t explain her excessive belching.She had lost 45 pounds since Day 1 because she spent too much time on her shelter. She’s nauseated before checking her snares. she is hungry but Her traps are empty. Before drinking water, Jessie eats charcoal to settle her stomach. She vomits at Lodge. Jessie failed to confirm her medical check, , so a crew checked on her. She can’t keep water down and has vomited times. Jessie doesn’t want to quit, but her illness prevents it. The medical staff believes she has serious stomach lining inflammation that must be addressed quickly.
30-year-old Juan Pablo wants to win Alone as a non-White. He focused on fishing when the temperature cools. he believes he has to extend his pier since the fish appear to have gone further from the bank, where it is warmer. After extending his dock, he catches a fish. He catches more brookies and thanks them. He cooks fish at night but isn’t hungry. His stomach feels like it doesn’t want food. but he needs the calories. Juan fears he’ll puke if he eats.
