In American Horror Story: Delicate Dex Harding, whose full name is Dexter Harding, Jr., is an ordinary husband who wants to be a better dad. Adeline Harding, whom Dex was married to before, died in a strange kitchen fire. Dex came from Berlin to see Doctor IVF about his second wife, Anna. Dex’s character changes a lot over the course of the season as his secrets and true nature are slowly revealed.

The finale episode, called “The Auteur,” shows Anna going through a lot of dramatic events, such as finding out that Dex is cheating on her and giving birth on stage while getting an Oscar. At the start of the episode, Anna is in labor and on her way to the hospital with her husband and a major character named Ivy. But things go badly when Ivy kills Kamal, a security guard. It turns out she is a skilled killer after all.
The chaos keeps going as another character, Dex, tries to deliver Anna’s baby but hurts his hand. When Ivy kills Dex in the end, his troublesome character arc is over. In the meantime, Anna gives birth to a boy named Dex in a dramatic scene while being watched by the Women in Black, a strange group led by Siobhan. Anna’s life takes a dark turn when she faces the strange people who have been bothering her in the middle of all the chaos.
The link between Dex and Siobhan is a big part of the season finale’s story. When it comes out that Siobhan is actually Dex’s mother, it changes everything for both characters. The reveal gives Siobhan’s character more depth by explaining why she did what she did throughout the series.
Through a mix of flashbacks and present-day events, the truth about Dex’s parents is exposed. Anna starts to figure out the truth about Dex and Siobhan’s relationship as her world falls apart around her. Anna and the audience are both shocked by the news.
One of the main characters, Siobhan, tells everyone about her evil plan to breed superhuman beings to “restore humanity to greatness” by creating a matriarchy. But Anna doesn’t give in to Siobhan’s pressure. The spirit of her dead twin sister Adeline helps her do this. In the final battle, Anna beats Siobhan, who quickly ages and falls apart.
At the end of the episode, Anna is triumphantly holding her baby and an Academy Award, which represents her victory over the darkness that had been following her all season. As the show comes to a close, Anna seems to be able to walk again and is no longer affected by Siobhan.
