Few series have held audiences’ attention as intensely as American Horror Story, one of FX’s most well-liked dramas that has been airing since 2011. Since the eleventh season of the horror anthology series was announced months ago, fans have been eagerly awaiting it. So it came as little surprise when the eleventh season’s release date was announced and the internet erupted.

Interestingly, a fan-made graphic that has been spreading on social media sites like Twitter has people riled up. American Horror Story hasn’t always been able to win over viewers, but some of its seasons have been outstanding.

Given that American Horror Story has released a handful of intriguing stories since its beginning, the eleventh season of the show does sound a lot like the prior seasons. The new season, according to the same source, would be unique and very likely the best season of the show to air. FX Chairman John Landgraf stated in February that this year’s focus would be on a single tale as opposed to last year’s Double Feature.

Landgraf added, “What I can tell you is that the premise for Season 11 is one story. Even though it occurs in several distinct time periods, the story has a beginning, middle, and end, much like many of the earlier ones. We don’t know much else, but we have seen photos of the filming set-up in New York City’s East Village, where a storefront was constructed to look like an adult video store from the 1980s called Video Peeps. The images also feature automobiles from the 1980s.

The actors’ Charlie Carver and Isaac Powell were spotted kissing on the streets of New York City in set photos obtained by Digital Spy. Rumors at the time said that the season would focus on the notorious disco club Studio 54 and take place in NYC in the 1970s.

The iconic anthology show’s eleventh season will be set in New York City in the 1970s, according to a tweet about it. The summary reads:

“American Horror Story: New York City’ takes place in the late 1970’s in NYC, and centers around a group of LGBTQ individuals targeted by a serial killer. It also covers many other themes, including the aids crisis, NYC blackout, and famous NYC serial killers.”
