Wyatt Oleff will feature in the new Apple TV+ comedy City on Fire, Deadline exclusively reported. The sitcom is created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who also created Gossip Girl. Jesse Peretz will also direct and produce the first two episodes.
This is an 8-episode initial season. The idea is from Schwartz and Savage’s production company Fake Empire Productions’ first-look arrangement with Apple. They will write every episode and executive produce. The show’s co-executive producer will be Lis Rowinski of Fake Empire.
Schwartz and Savage are no strangers to New York-based dramas, having created Gossip Girl. They also executive produce the new Gossip Girl. However, the 1970s setting and New Year’s Eve have been replaced in City on Fire. With Schwartz and Savage’s background and Oleff’s inclusion, City on Fire should be a thrilling thriller. City on Fire is yet to launch to Apple TV+.
Oleff is most recognized for his roles in It and I Am Not Okay with This. In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, he played a young Peter Quill (Star-Lord). A young man grieving his father’s loss on 9/11, Oleff will play Charlie. When his friend Samantha Cicciaro is shot in Central Park on July 4, 2003, he begins to piece together her death, a series of suspicious citywide fires, the downtown music scene, and a wealthy uptown real-estate family business.
