‘Silo’ Season 1 Episode 8 Recap
In Silo’s eighth episode, Juliette is even more motivated to find out what’s going on behind the scenes and reveal the truth to her fellow citizens. She gains insight into Hanna’s microscope investigations into potential treatments for her late son’s heart disease. Juliette and Hanna are mystified as to why microscopes and magnifying glasses of a specific strength are banned in Silo. They learn that the authorities in Silo seek to keep the citizens in the dark about the outside world and the time before the calamity.
The Judicial Department sends agents to Hanna’s house to look for her microscope. Pete’s wife, Hanna, initially believes he has betrayed her because he failed to report the microscope to the Judicial. Pete’s guilt is assuaged once Juliette informs him that cameras are concealed in all of Silo’s mirrors. Also, the Judicial is looking for Juliette due to her behavior in Gloria’s hospital room. She comes to the conclusion that Robert Sims (Common), a prominent member of the Judicial, must be apprehended for breaking Pact legislation. Juliette is unfazed by Sims’s warnings and continues on with her quest.
During her inquiries into her mother’s death, Juliette comes into possession of a password-protected hard drive. She enlists Martha’s aid in cracking the code, but tighter security measures within Silo make that difficult. Bernard Holland (Tim Robbins) steps in and abducts Juliette, exposing himself as the mastermind behind the antics of Sims and Judge Meadows (Tanya Moodie).
At the end of the episode, Bernard and Sims had captured Juliette in preparation for a final elimination. They frame her by saying she asked to go out for cleaning when she didn’t. Juliette seizes the moment when Sims attacks her because of a trigger while being escorted by Paul Billings (Chinaza Uche) and his officers. She forces Paul to the side and then jumps from one of the levels to avoid capture.
