Barry is excitedly expecting his fast-food order in Episode 2. He dashes to his trunk and enthusiastically hands Cousineau the meal. Cousineau begs to ride in the front, but Barry insists that the trunk is the best option for keeping things running properly. Barry is anxiously attempting to solve his Gene problem. Barry now knows that his teacher learned about the murder of Janice, his sweetheart. The bullets and wheel fall off the gun when Gene threatens to shoot Barry. Barry has taken him hostage and is attempting to find a solution. He tries to get him apart because this will be Gene’s second chance in his career, which he has never had. Barry believes that by doing this for him, he will be able to recognize that Barry is deserving of a second opportunity. Sally finds herself in the same scenario as Barry, with her abusive ex, Sam.
