In the previous episode 8 of batwoman, officers respond to Poison Ivy’s attacks ten years ago. Renee, the woman who attacked one of the officers and left the other alone, asks Poison Ivy why she is doing this and she says because someone has to care. Meanwhile, Marquis has discovered Luke. Mary is about to be stabbed by Batwoman when Marquis appears with a gun to Luke’s head. Sophie breaks into an office to retrieve Renee’s proof, while Luke tries to save Marquis. Sophie tells Luke that Renee was only lying to them to be reunited with her soul mate.

Batwoman Season 3 Episode 9 Spoilers
Next week’s episode is called “Meet Your Maker.” This plot will focus on Poison Ivy — or the character’s original incarnation. Mary has had her own unique take on Ivy for most of the season, and now forces will collide. When Pamela Isley reappears in Gotham, Ryan, Sophie and Luke set out to find the original Poison Ivy.
David Ramsey makes an appearance as a guest star in this episode. He has become such a steward for the entire Arrowverse in between being on-screen and some of the directing work that we’re always delighted to see him appear. the episode was directed by Michael Blundell. In tonight’s Batwoman episode, officers respond to Poison Ivy attacks ten years ago. Renee, the woman who attacked one of the officers and left the other alone, asks Poison Ivy why she is doing this and she says because someone has to care. Present-day, Mary is painting Alice’s nails when hotel management enters and informs her that all her credit cards were denied, and she must vacate. Mary assures him it’s a misunderstanding and looks at him with green eyes. and he exits the room. Alice tells Mary to murder them quickly. Renee is with Pam, who has white tulips. Renee says he could have died. Renee says she has lost her memory. Pam thinks Renee is gone; she has developed into someone who can stand up for herself. And, more significantly, for the unable. Luke is frustrated by his computer’s revolving circle of death. They won’t let Renee forget who she is, Ryan says. Then Renee instructs her to stop. As Sophie points out, they need a tough position.
Ryan assures her she will not agree to the woman’s blackmail because she has slept with her. Luke is uncomfortable and wants out. In order to extricate Poison Ivy from Arkham, Batman created a defecation serum, but only one dose was manufactured. Ryan claims that using this serum on Mary would cause her death. Ryan is against it but gives in when Luke enters. When Ryan tells Marquis he is remodeling his office, she tells him he should be in jail and needs a doctor. He informs her that a tiny part of her loves him or she would have had him thrown in Arkham, and she will hear from him soon. Ryan informs Sophie they’re going to crash Marquis’ party tonight at Wayne’s. The party is a masquerade, helping Sophie, Ryan, and Luke hide. Marquis quizzes the partygoers and zaps them if they don’t get it right. Sophie, Renee, and Ryan sneak up to where men are playing billiards, push open the entrance, and knock them all out to go into the bat cave. When Mary arrives at the party, she approaches Marquis, who informs her that her friends have moved out.
Renee tells Ryan that what occurred to Pam and Mary wasn’t a fair battle. Renee asks Pam whether she knows anything about the Gotham Dam break-in. Pam says she wants to stop Gotham from becoming a hazardous waste dump and needs her help. Pam tells her she is wanted, but she must trust her actions. Pam collapses when Renee stabs her with the serum. They assume Pam is in the bat cave tunnels. Renee suits up to get closer to Pam. She phones Luke and tells him they think she’s in the lower tunnels. Mary urges Marquis that he should take revenge on Ryan for her. Then she whispers in his ear. While in the tunnels with Batwoman, Sophie, and Renee, she receives a message from Luke about Mary. Sophie notices something and Batwoman digs up Pam’s body. Renee informs Batwoman that Mary is at the party and the serum has arrived. She uses a machine to remove the serum from Pam. Sophie’s credit card was hacked, so she goes to find Alice, who is holding up at a hotel. Sophie knocks, Alice says it’s time. Alice informs her that Renee has been deceiving them and must be punished.
Marquis has discovered Luke. Mary is about to be stabbed by Batwoman when Marquis appears with a gun to Luke’s head. Poison Ivy escapes returns to the hotel and tells Alice that Batwoman was ready to inject her but didn’t, instead of using the syringe on Marquis. Mary was the least of her worries. Alice thinks she’s underrated. Renee is talking to Pam within the tunnel when a tulip blooms. Renee kisses her and Pam awakens. Sophie breaks into an office to retrieve Renee’s proof, while Luke tries to save Marquis. Sophie tells Luke that Renee was only lying to them to be reunited with her soul mate.
