Below Deck Season 11 Episode 10 Recap: Fraser and Barbie’s Feud

In the most recent episode titled “Grenadian Nightmare” of Below Deck, the team had a lot of problems, both in the kitchen and with each other. The episode went into detail about what happened after “sushi gate,” showing how hard it was for the team to deal with personal problems while still being professional. Barbie Pascual was very angry because she felt overwhelmed and detached from Cheif Stew Fraser Olender. At the same time, a new stew was introduced named Paris Field. As the show went on, relationships were put to the test and tensions rose.

Below Deck Season 11 Episode 10 Recap

The show began with the St. David getting into what can only be called “sushi-gate.” Melinda, the main guest, didn’t get the vegetarian sushi she had asked for because Anthony, the cook, gave Jill Zarin, who was more picky, more attention. When Anthony felt the stress, he complained, “They think I’m an octopus,” which showed how overpowering things were. It was clear that he didn’t have much experience cooking veggie food, which made the guests’ meals less than satisfactory.

Fraser, the head stew, was worried about Anthony’s work and strongly objected to the way he plated his pad thai, which was called cold and average. Captain Kerry’s appearance at dinner added to the stress, but Anthony admitted that he wasn’t very good at vegan food, citing his time in France, where vegetarian options were often misunderstood.

In this episode, St. David’s inner crew is having a hard time because they are short-staffed and one stew is down. Barbie is feeling the stress the most and is having a hard time talking to Fraser, the headstew. Even though she’s trying to be professional, her short answers and cold attitude show that she’s upset. When they say goodbye to the guests, Fraser tries to make things more pleasant by praising Barbie’s work. Barbie’s answer, a short and quiet “Thank you,” however, seems to show more anger than thanks.

At the same time, the deck crew found comfort in talking about past romantic situations they had with charter guests. Ben, the first mate, had to choose between Dylan and Sunny to be the lead deckhand. Sunny said she wanted a deep, meaningful connection because of the love story between her parents.

As the team got ready for a difficult docking because of strong winds, tension rose. The docking did work, though, which made everyone happy. Melinda gave credit to the crew on the outside but didn’t mention the work of the team on the inside. The episode ended with a disappointing tip of $20,000. It was the lowest tip of the season so far, which made the team feel down.

On their day off at a resort, Paris Field, the new stew, was shown to the team. Paris introduced herself right away to the crew and quickly became a trusted friend and peacemaker. Fraser told Paris about how Barbie was acting, and Barbie told Ben how upset she was that she wasn’t getting breaks.

Barbie and Fraser’s problems talking to each other got worse, which led to a fight. Fraser told Barbie how upset he was with her behavior, which caused their business relationship to end. Paris looked at what was going on and tried to make Barbie feel better.  Paris tries to help Fraser and Barbie work things out by saying that the things they have in common may be making them fight. But Fraser doesn’t agree with this evaluation, which means he’s done with Barbie and doesn’t want her on any other charter.

Dylan’s efforts to flirt with Paris go wrong in this episode. when he makes rude comments about her name and nationality says she looks like she could wear Crocs, and asks her if she likes Steve Irwin.  Paris tells Dylan straight out that he may be good-looking, but he lacks personality, giving him a three-out-of-ten grade. Sunny saw Ben and Paris having a moment of bonding, which made things tense between them. Sunny said that she wanted more limits in their relationship, which showed that they needed to talk to each other more clearly.

At the same time, Ben and Paris become close because they have both been through the interpersonal chaos onboard. As they talk, Ben puts his hand on Paris’s knee, and their contact gets worse until they’re holding hands which doesn’t seem right during the day. Sunny said that she wanted more limits in their relationship, which showed that they needed to talk to each other more clearly.

At the end of the episode, Barbie, who was still on her day off, did her makeup while crying to her mom on the phone, showing that she could handle both personal and business problems at the same time. It looks like the drama on the St. David isn’t going to stop any time soon, so stay tuned for more twists and turns. Never miss any news or changes from Below Deck.
