The Finale Date for Black-ish Has Been Announced.
The series finale of Black-ish will air on ABC on Tuesday, April 19. Anthony Anderson told PEOPLE at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture’s Black-ish series finale event on Saturday that the show’s appeal stems from its “authenticity,” “being unapologetic,” and “fighting for what you believe in.”
“And that’s what drew people to our show,” the 51-year-old actor explained. “And with the worldwide audience, it was all about trying to better ourselves, live the American dream, and have the best for our entire family.” Tracee Ellis Ross agreed, saying that “the characters are extremely sympathetic” to the audience. “Each of our characters, I believe, has their own point of view. There is no lull in the action. They’ve all matured and altered their minds over time, just like real people do. We all change as we grow older “Ross, 49, addressed the situation to People.com at the event on Saturday. “I believe it’s a lovely thing that people find themselves in these characters,” she says.

Black-ish Season 8 Episode 12 Recap
Pops was concerned about his kids. He saw Junior as a love-sick wimp and Dre as someone going through a mid-life crisis. He felt it was past time for him to teach his children how to be men once more. As a result, he requested a Man Trip. They will go to a lodge in the woods during this time. They learn to ride motorcycles and hunt, cook, and survive on their own. Pops thought the Man Trip was a tremendous success at first since Junior was already feeling alive. He began cutting wood, and that made him happy. Dre, too, was enjoying and relaxing away from the city’s noise. Junior began to cry seemingly out of nowhere. So it was up to Dre to show him how to live like a black man. Junior made his own compelling arguments, questioning why he couldn’t be vulnerable when he was only close to his family.
Dre couldn’t help but cry and hold his son when he looked into his eyes. When Dre tried to do the same with Pops the first time, it didn’t work. Pops revealed at the end of the episode that looking into his son’s eyes made him cry. The men showed their affection for one another, and the Man Trip was a huge success. In the midst of it all, Jack and Diane were looking for a new college. Bow thought it would be nice if they went to various colleges for the first time. Jack, to Diane’s surprise, consented, and she had no idea why. Diane realised after a heart-to-heart with her mother that they might never have another chance to miss each other. They require this sensation. As a result, as the episode came to a close, Diane and Jack reconciled.
