The synopsis is vague, except that the entire squad will collaborate on a high-stakes case. Is it feasible that the title refers to a vow renewal between Kevin and Holt? Getting Holt and Kevin to the vow-renewal ceremony is the high-stakes case. Captain Holt’s relationship with Kevin has also been strained. Holt has been absorbed in his work due to events surrounding COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter Campaign. He can’t reach Kevin. “The Set Up” has the precinct assist at a bombed site that turns out to be a tour bus. The Feds are everywhere, excluding Jake and the NYPD . Jake plans a second bomb at the bus lot next to an IRS building. he arrests a man who appears, assuming he is the culprit. But Holt suspends Jake for not being responsible for the bombing. Holt sends Amy (Melissa Rumero) and Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz) to expose O’Sullivan’s deal to help Jake. Amy tries to get O’Sullivan to confess, but she ends up drunk. Rosa then swaps places with Amy, revealing their plan to set him up. Amy accuses him of blackmailing Jake, which he denies. Terry is about to take over Scully’s annual candy sale when Charles walks in and they fight. Meanwhile, Jake is still looking into the previous arrest. Amy and Rosa try to help, but they arrive on bikes drunk and disoriented, sabotaging his task. Jake is then charged with more lawsuits. Afraid of being found out, O’Sullivan (John C. McGinley) approaches Holt and decides to drop all charges against Jake. Holt stops Jake for 5 months for admitting his mistakes.

The sixth episode of Season 8 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, titled “PB&J,” follows Pontiac Bandit and Jake Peralta. Doug Judy has been arrested and will be transferred to a different facility. Jake makes sure that he gets to take Doug out one final time before he goes to prison. Jake has a few surprises in store for them during this time. That’s when Boyle interrupts, suspecting Doug of trying to deceive Jake once more. Doug had been intending to flee all along, as Boyle had predicted. He had enlisted the help of his sister to plan the entire escape. Finally, when Jake’s life is in jeopardy, Doug saves him. Doug, however, must now serve his sentence in prison. Doug subsequently makes his way to Amsterdam with his wife to live a happy life, and the two bid their goodbyes.
