The episode began with Firehouse 51 responding to a call for an accident on the bridge, where a truck had broken through the bridge railings due to a tire burst. The group then proceeded to secure the load on the truck. While Severide hung from the rope in a vertical rescue stance in order to safely lower the truck driver who was clinging to the rails. Meanwhile, firehouse 72 arrived for aid, but it was a complete disaster. Stella was so taken aback by this that she decided to apply for the job of Lieutenant at 72 after finding that their current Lieutenant was transferring. Chief Boden agreed to speak with the 72nd chief and file the paperwork. The heater in the ambulance, on the other side, was broken, making things difficult for Brett and Violet. Violet also told Hawkins about the problem in an unpleasant conversation, and he got first in line at the repair business.
