Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 7 Recap
Severide worked closely with Seager to uncover the arsonist in Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 7. The case drew the attention of the Chicago Police Department since it included a dangerous serial killer…Casey wrote Brett a note. Casey also sent a letter to Gallo, containing his famed corned beef recipe. Severide and Seager went to the archdiocese to ask the Sister about the arsonist. She couldn’t offer much assistance other than to say that some parishioners were dissatisfied that the Catholic church had allowed non-traditional to join. Severide proposed that they look into prior fire patterns because large arson fires don’t just start… they spread. They were intrigued by a dumpster fire behind a nearby church and paid a visit to the pastor’s father. Seager discovered the messages in one of the missiles and deduced that it was their arsonist.
The text was on a drawing in the Sister’s office, which Seager recognized. They paid her a visit and learned of Father Anthony’s death. Lieutenant Jason Pellum was Casey’s temporary successor. He saved two children in a fire and was humble about it, as Mouch knew him from media coverage. The staff was suddenly alerted by a fire alarm. When they arrived at the workplace, they discovered a man caught in a plastic wrapping machine. Bolden asked Mouch if Pellum would work out and keep an eye on the new lieutenant when they returned to the firehouse. Pellum later discussed his risk-taking with Gallo. Gallo refuted Casey’s claim that he was given too much leniency. Pellum challenged him, telling him that he must obey his orders. He went into detail about Gallo and Casey’s relationship. The 51 teams received a call from St. Dominics, another catholic church. There was no inferno, thus it appeared to be a false alarm. They were able to clear it. Atwater obtained a warrant, and the fire inspector arrived at Muller’s residence with him.
They discovered identical doodling as well as bomb-making blueprints. They also saw that his room was visible from St. Dominic’s…When they received another call, Severide and Seager went to the church to confirm that it was the next target. The last alert was investigated, and Sev discovered that a vehicle bomb had been planted. He hit the bomb and blew himself up before Sev could get to him! Only a burned body remained of the man…Brett received a text message informing him that Casey had accepted a position with a new firehouse in Portland and that they would no longer be seeing each other. With a “what would Casey say” moment, they were able to solve their problems. Bolden gathered the crew to tell them that Pellum would be staying with them for at least a week. Everyone, including Gallo, was grateful to have him.
