Chicago Fire Season 11 Episode 18 Recap
In the episode of Chicago Fire that airs tonight, Kidd is given the opportunity to participate in a Homeland Security Anti-Terrorism Task Force as a member. She believed that it would be additional labor without further compensation, therefore she did not feel very enthusiastic about it. Additionally, she didn’t want to be too separated from the rest of her squad. The only difference was that she didn’t have to worry about the final portion because the man who was supposed to save her was on his way to her. Another piece of encouraging information was that her liaison wasn’t just any random person. It was Casey all along. Casey participated in the work of the task force. Kidd was one of the people he talked to when he was at the firehouse, and he made it clear to her that this wasn’t going to be some dull conference where they could laze around.
The task force was associated with a danger that was very much present. One that he was not allowed to talk with her in public, and one that she was not permitted to discuss with the other guys. They were required to tell their friends that it was some sort of “boondoggle.” Casey assured her that he would provide an update the next time she walked in for a meeting with him, and in the meantime, they played the situation down to everyone else. Casey even indicated that he devised this alibi so that he could attend Cindy’s party to celebrate her recovery from cancer, but this was all a ruse. In addition, he kept the truth from Brett about the situation. Casey and Brett had ended their relationship because they were unable to successfully maintain a long-distance connection. Both of them have also entered new romantic relationships. Both of their situations weren’t particularly serious, but they were moving forward, and Casey was dead serious about keeping the danger a secret. He hadn’t even let anyone know that he was planning on visiting the city. Some others choose to take offense at the fact that he kept everything close to the vest since he was playing things close to the chest. Like Brett.
Brett was under the impression that she should have been given prior notice. She was griping about it to Violet the entire time they were in the car on the way back from the medical center. Casey was the one who ultimately decided to end Brett’s relationship with her since she felt like she seldom saw him. At this time, he was going to Chicago for short stays. It just hadn’t been for her. That made Brett upset, and she wasn’t willing to acknowledge out loud that hearing Casey was dating again also made her upset, but she did feel upset about both of those things. When Casey was seeing other people, Brett was just Casey’s pal who hung out in the background. She detested the idea. In the past, she had developed an extreme case of jealousy, and a small part of her didn’t want to go back to the days when she was like that. Even in the event that she was the one who ended their relationship with him. Simply put, Brett was going through a lot of feelings, and unlike in the past, she was unable to talk through them with Casey.
