Chicago Fire Season 12 Episode 13 – “Never Say Goodbye”: Boden’s Farewell

It’s almost time for the heartbreaking season finale of Chicago Fire Season 12. It will make you cry as we say goodbye to a popular character. Deputy District Chief Wallace Boden, played by the great Eamonn Walker, will be making his last appearance as a regular on the show after 12 amazing seasons in this moving episode.

The teaser for the episode “Never Say Goodbye” hints that Boden’s Firehouse 51 family will show him lots of love and thanks. Cruz says, “You made 51 a family, Chief, and this firehouse a home,” which shows how much Boden has affected everyone around him.

Boden has been a source of motivation and courage for his team through many problems and crises during his time in office. Walker’s departure marks the end of an age, but it’s not the end of the story; he’s likely to come back in some form in the future.

Boden will also have to make a big choice in this episode that could affect the race for Deputy Commissioner. This will make his last moments on screen even more tense. Boden will have to make some very tough decisions and fight enemies, so his leadership skills will be put to the test.

Andrea Newman, who runs the show, says that Boden’s choice will surprise him and make him think about all kinds of leadership. What a perfect way to say goodbye to a character who always put his team first and led with honesty and loyalty.

As we get ready to say goodbye to Boden, we think back on the sad, happy, and helpful season that got us to this point. The show Chicago Fire keeps changing as old characters leave and new ones join, but it always stays true to its past and the characters who played key roles.

Chicago Fire Season 12 Episode 12 Recap

At the start of the episode, Capp finds out that Cruz and his wife, Chloe, are going to marriage therapy. Capp asks Cruz about the therapy in a sneaky way to show that he cares about his friend and wants to help. At the same time, Cruz is having a hard time with his desire for more authority in the fire department because he feels like Severide is more important than him.

The firemen are called to a building where homeless people are staying because there is a big fire. Cruz is brave during the rescue because he risks his life to save a woman, but he gets sick from breathing in smoke and has to go to the hospital.

Severide sees EMT Jared Lennox giving drugs to a patient without first checking them out, which puts the patient’s life in danger. Even though Severide knew what would happen, he told Chief Robinson about Lennox’s deeds, and Robinson fired Lennox right away.

While Cruz is in the hospital getting better, he and Chloe deal with the problems in their marriage that are made worse by the risks of Cruz’s job. Chloe is still upset about what happened with firemen Mouch, and she finds it hard to deal with the constant fear of losing Cruz.

In the middle of these personal problems, Firehouse 51 hears that a rival firehouse broke the world record for the fastest rescue. This inspires them to try to break their own record. But when Chief Robinson tells Severide that she is leaving her job, their work stops. This makes Severide think about what she can do to get back at her.

In a touching moment, Chloe meets the woman Cruz saved when she goes to Firehouse 51. She realizes how brave her husband really was. In the last few seconds of the episode, the firemen laugh together, showing how strong they are as a team.
