When Birdie (Anna Pittman), the juvenile girl Victor forced on him as a test, got too near, Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick Flueger) ended the covert encounter early. Due to Upton shooting and killing Victor as a result, their case suffered a severe setback. Even worse, they had to release Birdie because she would not speak and was officially innocent of any crimes. Voight (Jason Beghe) called Upton outside for a quick chat after this enraged her. Upton to Sean’s home instead of following his advice to go home and relax. She revealed about missing Halstead, who left to lead his own squad in Bolivia, under the guise of developing a friendship with him.
