Chicago PD Season 9 Episode 13 Recap
Hailey was out for a late-night run when she came witnessed a car slamming into the bridge rails and plunging into the river. She called for help and an ambulance, but she didn’t want to wait for them, so she jumped in herself. She went to the unconscious driver and rescued him first, but the woman in the passenger seat clutched her hand and saved her first. But she promised to return, and she did, but the automobile had sunk a long way. She kept inquiring for the woman named Lisa after arriving at the hospital and eventually learned that she had died. When Lisa’s husband repeated reporting that she was alone and heading home when she contacted him, things became fishy.
As a result, Hailey headed to the precinct to find out more about what had happened, and she trusted her instincts by pulling up security tape from Lisa’s location twenty minutes before to the incident. The man in the driver’s seat was witnessed abducting her in the parking lot and driving away with her car, much to everyone’s amazement. When she realized what had happened, she went to the hospital with Jay, but the man had already departed without anybody noticing. Hailey was consumed by guilt after learning that she had spared a criminal, and she was hell-bent on locating him as quickly as possible. Hailey discovered the offender, Blake Mullen, had been stalking Lisa for six months after doing a lot of investigation through the surveillance cameras. She also learned that he was breaking into Lisa’s house and taking things from there, which was a disturbing revelation.
The squad broke into his residence after acquiring his address but discovered no evidence of him being there. Despite the fact that Hailey discovered a dozen boxes of items from various women’s homes that he had targeted during the previous 15 years. Blake’s victims were all from a common sporting club where Platt had been a member for 15 years, Platt and Hailey found later. After Blake noticed them approaching the club, Hailey, Jay, and Adam saw him sprinting away from them. Hailey chased him down and confronted him at the sports club, where they fought. He fell into the pool after being beaten down by her. Despite her desire to see him die, she dragged him out of jail, where he would fester for the rest of his life. After all was said and done, Platt held a little party for Hailey and everyone celebrated her tenth anniversary.
