In the aftermath of what happened with Makayla, Adam and Kim struggled to reconnect with one other in this episode. As a result, Adam immersed himself in a case requiring him to locate the daughter of his old teacher, Mr. P. Olivia, the daughter, had not been in contact for months, and they couldn’t find her in the morgues either, indicating that she was still alive. After a while, Adam went to a student dorm to track down Olivia’s automobile and discovered a young lad who had overdosed on drugs and had fallen on his head. He went to help another guy who was also overdose on drugs while calling 911 on him, and Olivia was also there. The next morning, he persuaded her to join him in taking down her boss, Wade, who was in charge of the operation. While at the department, Jay informed everyone that Wade had been conducting a large operation for some time and was on Narcotics’ radar. He was also a psychopath, as evidenced by the fact that he had individuals monitor those who worked for him or dealt with him, and he was a drug user. Adam eventually decided to go undercover and bring Wade down. Soon after, he met Wade at his house through Olivia and lined up a meeting time and location for the transaction to take place. He was texting Kim at night during all of this, attempting to keep the conversation continuing between them so they could cope with the family crisis together. Wade arrived with Olivia the next day, took Adam’s phone, and told him to follow his truck because he had changed his business location at the last minute.
Wade pulled out a revolver and placed it on his head as they entered an abandoned factory. He told Adam that his guys had been following him and that they had discovered that he had just moved into the new location. Furthermore, he floated the idea that he was a cop. However, Adam tried his hardest to persuade Wade, but he was not convinced. He eventually dismantled two narcotic pills and instructed Adam to sniff them to prove he wasn’t a cop, or he’d shoot Olivia. Adam sniffed the medications in order to save Olivia, and Wade believed him and went to get the drugs. Meanwhile, Adam was losing it and requested Olivia to go fetch the Narcan from his truck because he was losing it. Meanwhile, he opened his communication device and told Kim that if they didn’t get there in time, he wouldn’t make it. Wade, on the other hand, spotted Olivia and followed her to Adam’s truck, where he discovered the police vest. He learned she was working with a cop as a result, and he shot her. He was unable to flee, however, as Jay and Hailey apprehended him. Kim, on the other hand, saved Adam’s life by giving him an injection that delayed the effects of the medications. Olivia eventually made it out alive. However, things did not turn out well for Kim and Adam, as he moved out of the flat after learning that Kim and Makayla were moving forward without him.
