A murdered female body is recovered in a fountain. Internal Affairs Detective Nora Cross is investigating David Hodges. Hodges’ trial was expedited. The blood on Brewski’s teeth helps Gil and Sara identify his murderer, a middle-aged South American male. The undersheriff puts pressure on the lab to uncover Sandra King’s killer. Sara and Gil look for clues at Hodges’. A framed photo is gone, which could be where Hodges got his fingerprints. The killers used 3D knives from King’s game. Ben Miller, King’s lieutenant, is shown brandishing the blades. Weirdly, they locate a contact lens in the fountain water. When approached, a man flees but Allie catches him. He lives close and saw the crime. He knows Miller. He was the second man who saw running.
Maxine searches the police storage for evidence for Gil and Sara. Folsom and Allie believe the assassin framed Miller with a 3D mask and contacts. Folsom and Allie re-enact. Maxine tries to connect the killer’s walk to the gaming tournament’s video. Ron Kean follows suit. Those convicted based on evidence Hodges handled from a class action. Kean lost an internal game design contest. Maxine snags an insect off Kean’s hood. He won’t reveal his left forearm. Gil says the stinger is from a unique bee. His mother’s house was nearby. His DNA remained. His arm is scratched. Gil has a problem that makes him feel stuck on the boat.
