The season finale of DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN (Episode 9) brought an emotional end to Matt Murdock’s journey. And just like many great moments in the Marvel series, the music played a key role in setting the tone. Two songs—used at the beginning and end of the episode—stood out as emotional anchors.
WHAT SONGS PLAY IN DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN FINALE?
The opening track is a gospel song called “Storm Cloud Rising” by the Florida Mass Choir, but this version was a remix. It actually made its first appearance at the end of Episode 8, but in the finale, it’s used again as the episode begins. The song’s powerful vocals and choir arrangement match the weight of the moment, as Matt prepares for a confrontation with Bullseye (played by Wilson Bethel) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio). The music adds a sense of spiritual tension, emphasizing Matt’s emotional burden and what’s at stake.
As the episode unfolds, the music shifts in tone. In a particularly chilling hospital scene, Buck Cashman arrives with a teddy bear in a Daredevil-red gift bag. His goal? To murder Matt. While this disturbing plan plays out, the song “Killing Me Softly with His Song” plays from a nearby speaker. This is no coincidence. Buck even hints at the reference, calling himself a “good Christian boy” and planning to “kill Matthew softly.” The contrast between the gentle melody and Buck’s cruel intentions makes the scene more unsettling.
Then comes the final moment of the series. As Matt walks away from the wreckage of the gala, the scene fades out with “Everything in Its Right Place” by Radiohead. This haunting track, from their 2000 album Kid A, plays as Matt reflects on everything that’s happened—betrayals, loss, and justice. The use of this song suggests a strange sense of peace, but also lingering chaos. The lyrics and electronic tone bring out Matt’s moral complexity. Is everything really in its right place? That’s left for viewers to decide.
The music choices throughout Episode 9 are not just background noise—they speak to who Matt is. From gospel to alternative rock, each song shows a different part of his struggle: faith, guilt, loss, and resolution.
The Daredevil: Born Again finale makes it clear—Matt Murdock’s story may have reached its end for now, but the echoes of his journey remain. And thanks to these tracks, that ending feels both powerful and personal.
WHAT HAPPENED IN DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN SEASON 1 FINALE?
The Season 1 finale of DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN delivered a brutal and emotional crescendo, bringing together all major storylines—Matt Murdock (played by Charlie Cox), Kingpin/Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), Frank Castle/The Punisher (Jon Bernthal), and Dex/Bullseye (Wilson Bethel).
After taking a bullet meant for Fisk, Matt recovers and learns that Vanessa Fisk (Sandrine Holt) secretly hired Bullseye to kill Foggy (Elden Henson) and a man named Benny to cover her shady dealings. Flashbacks reveal Vanessa’s manipulation of Dex during his psychiatric hold. Meanwhile, Fisk regains control of the city, declares martial law, and orders hits on his enemies—including Daredevil.
Fisk’s plans revolve around Red Hook, a lawless port he’s using for money laundering. Karen Page and Matt discover Foggy was unknowingly close to uncovering this operation before his death. As riots erupt, Frank helps Matt fight off Fisk’s kill squad but is eventually captured by rogue cops who idolize him.
The episode reaches a gruesome climax when Fisk murders Commissioner Gallo with his bare hands. Karen and Matt, realizing they’re outnumbered, retreat to plan their next move. Fisk holds a public press conference, presenting a false narrative while consolidating power.
In a heartfelt moment, Matt reflects on the darkness he’s faced and Foggy’s enduring faith in him. As Radiohead’s “Everything in Its Right Place” plays, Matt and Karen prepare for the coming war.
Mid-Credits Scene: The Punisher fakes vulnerability to bait a guard into getting close—then brutally snaps his arm through the bars. Frank Castle is far from done.
The battle lines are drawn. Season 2 will be about resistance, redemption, and revenge.
