Dave Season 3 Episode 4 Recap
The third episode of season three of “Dave” is funnier than the previous two, but it still maintains the show’s signature blend of character-driven drama and comedy. The plot of this episode revolves around Dave’s attempt to win over the Black community through his collaboration with Rick Ross and his meetings with important Black entertainers, athletes, and executives at the Brunch while on a road trip to Atlanta. When Dave and GaTa are robbed outside a liquor store, however, things take a turn for the worst, and Rick Ross threatens to harm Dave’s reputation if he doesn’t get his chain back. The group unexpectedly had a great time recording music after GaTa takes over and tries to negotiate with the burglars. GaTa, meantime, has to cope with something on a more personal level, as he must confront the friend who arranged the crime. At the end of the episode, thanks to his financial penalty and heartfelt pep talk for GaTa, Dave has successfully assimilated into the Black community and earned the respect and admiration of the Black community for the time being. The episode further builds the bromance between Elz and Killer Mike, who pays Elz, and refers to Elz’s financial troubles.
