Nicole takes the bullets out of Bowman’s gun at the Grey Mill retirement center, aiming to kill her, but the zombie attacks Nicole instead. Bowman tries to shoot the zombie, but thanks to Nicole, her gun isn’t loaded, and she dies. Half of the city has been infected by the time Bowman kills the zombie, so Trey races to get Luke as Bowman proceeds towards City Hall. Meanwhile, Sarah Blackwood manages to flee a gunfight and makes her way to Doctor Logan’s house.
Sarah takes a short glance at the setup while he conducts an experiment on Detective McDermott’s severed finger. Mrs. French is caught listening to Jai’s talk with Lauren and smoking despite her cancer diagnosis back at the retirement home. The zombies soon enter the premises, but instead of abandoning the elderly, Jai and Lauren devise a plan to save everyone at the facility. They lead the zombies down the hall to a chamber where they are all locked up, but Mrs. French misses the cue to flee and dies in the foyer with the undead. In the end, Luke Bowman tells Trent that he used to be best friends with Cam, but Luke gets attacked by a zombie as soon as Trent abandons him.
