Doctor Who Season 13 Episode 3 Recap

Bel is a woman. Strange swarms of blue, smoky CGI appear to be preying on survivors as the Dalek Sector grows. Bel is on the run from the Daleks, trying to find her sweetheart. Just as Swarm clicks his fingers, The Doctor thinks quickly. They grab Dan and jump onto the Mouri pedestals, getting pulled into the time storm. The Doctor and her friends are thrust into various historical circumstances. Dan is back on Earth, talking to Diane about his past, surrounded by blue smoke swirls. When he becomes self-aware, he is temporarily transported back to Edge Hill. The Doctor prepares for an Atropos siege as Yaz, (she’s a cop) But a crying angel lurks in the mirrors and begins following her. Vinder’s vision helps him understand why he’s on Outpost Rose, serving the Grand Serpent, and getting a new posting. Vinder is a whistleblower when he notices Supremacy corruption during a covert meeting. This one-act exiles him. Vinder’s drive to do the right thing, to clean up corruption, gets him rejected.

This time storm is extremely volatile and appears to be breaking down. A lone Weeping angel on the prowl for…reasons? The Doctor does her utmost to save the day in a race against time. But first, we return to Bel. She escaped the Daleks by commandeering a lone Lupari ship. Bel finds the Cyber Sector next, with a cyber-men marching on it. Bel keeps going, escaping cybermen who try to board her ship and killing them all. It tells her its full objective as one of the cybermen dies on the ground. In exchange, Bel says her mission is “love.” After everything is mended, the Doctor and her companions are thrown out of time, due to four Mouri returning to their stations. Strange old lady who looks to know what’s going on spits out the Doctor. She says the Flux was planned and the Doctor triggered it all. But the Doctor is sent back into the fortress with the rest. These two claim they knew the Doctor would fix the fortress. It seems to be their plan all along. The blue smoke is Time Force Particles that corrode anything they touch. Laughing cruelly, they vanish, leaving the Doctor to reunite the trio. On his home planet, Vinder is searching for his long-lost love. Of course, it’s Bel. Where is she? Back on the Tardis, a Weeping Angel appears from Yaz’s phone and starts fiddling with the controls. “The angel has it!” As the episode ends, the Doctor sobs.
