In the next episode of the popular show Elsbeth, Elsbeth Tascioni gets involved in yet another interesting case through a strange turn of events. Carrie Preston, who has won both critical praise and an Emmy for her work in The Good Wife and The Good Fight, plays the beloved character from those shows again.
The episode, called “Sweet Justice,” looks like it will be very exciting for people who like the show. Elsbeth is known for her quirky good looks and sharp mind as a lawyer. In the most recent episode of Elsbeth, called “Artificial Genius,” Elsbeth and Kaya, our dynamic pair, go up against Elizabeth Lail’s character Quinn Powers, a tech superstar, and her clear success with the Cerberus app. Quinn, who went through a traumatic event in high school, has turned Cerberus into a crime-solving app that is ready for a successful IPO. She might lose her success, though, when investigative reporter Josh Johnson (Eric William Morris), who wants to find out her secrets, approaches her.
To protect her image, Quinn makes up a story about a kidnapping and uses Cerberus to spread fear and draw attention away from her plan to kill Josh. She records a talk ahead of time for the IPO and uses it as an excuse for where she was when the murder happened. As Quinn deals with the fallout from her crime, her ability to manipulate people and use business speak is on full show.
At the same time, Elsbeth and Kaya find problems with Quinn’s story that make them think she may have been involved in killing Josh. They find out about Quinn’s unethical behavior by using both new technology and old-fashioned police work. For example, they find out that Quinn made money off of false crime reports on Cerberus.
In a separate storyline, Captain Wagner’s work with the Payne Wagner Foundation is being looked into, which could affect Claudia’s future. Wagner is sure he is not guilty and wants to make things right with Wally’s help. But it’s still not clear how much Wagner was involved, which sets the stage for a dramatic end to the season.
