Production is officially underway for ENOLA HOLMES 3, and fans can get ready to reunite with the teenage detective who made Victorian mystery-solving feel fresh and exciting. Netflix has kicked off filming in the U.K. with Millie Bobby Brown once again stepping into the lead role of Enola Holmes. Brown, who also produces the movie through her company PCMA Productions, is joined by her co-stars Louis Partridge (as Tewkesbury), Henry Cavill (as Sherlock Holmes), Helena Bonham Carter (as Eudoria Holmes), Himesh Patel, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster, who are all returning for the third movie.

This time around, Enola’s next big adventure takes her to Malta. The new story promises higher stakes and more emotional depth as “personal and professional dreams collide” in a case that’s described as more complicated and dangerous than anything she’s taken on before.
One of the biggest changes for this third entry is behind the camera. Philip Barantini, known for directing the popular Netflix film Adolescence, takes over as director. He replaces Harry Bradbeer, who helmed the first two successful movies in the franchise. Barantini is working from a script by Jack Thorne, who returns once again as the screenwriter for the third film. Thorne has written all three films in the Enola Holmes series, which is based on the bestselling novels by Nancy Springer. The books follow Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister as she carves out her own path as a detective.
The movie is produced by Mary Parent, Ali Mendes, and Alex Garcia for Legendary Entertainment. Brown also produces alongside her sister Paige Brown for PCMA Productions. Executive producers include Jake Bongiovi, Isobel Richards, Joshua Grode, and Michael Dreyer.
The Enola Holmes films have become one of Netflix’s most popular young adult franchises. The second installment was a massive hit when it launched in 2022, earning more than 68 million streaming hours across 93 countries in its first week. That success helped Millie Bobby Brown secure a record-breaking deal, with reports claiming she earned $10 million for her role in Enola Holmes 2—the highest upfront salary ever for an actor under 20 at the time.
