FBI: International Season 1 Episode 16 Recap
In Budapest, FBI Special Agent Cameron Vo ran upon an old buddy Nick Thorpe. and the two of them attended Quantico together. Thorpe aspired to be an FBI Special Agent, much like his father. Thorpe and Vo went out for a drink. Someone was staring at him, she noticed. Thorpe walked away from the table. He went outside, and the other person followed suit. A gunshot is a next thing Vo hears. She steps outside to discover that the only person who knew Thorpe was no longer alive. Her friend was also missing. It makes no difference if he was an FBI agent or a retired one. He wasn’t the type of guy to flee the scene, so Vo told the cops about what happened, and they concluded that Thorpe was the shooter. It had the potential to sever ties between the United States and Hungary. Someone from the American embassy in Hungary had been dispatched to question Vo. They inquired about Vo’s romance with Thorpe. After that, he was fired, and the rest is a mystery. Torok was the assassination victim they all suspected Thorpe was responsible for. Only Thorpe gained access to Vo’s residence. He sat there and waited for her. He stated that he was not the one who had done this. He claimed that he works for a man who ordered Torok’s death but that he wasn’t the one who fired the shot. Before he says anything else, Thorpe wants immunity and protection. After Vo suggested bringing him in, Thorpe bolted.
Kellet contacted Forrester. enlisted Jaeger Thorpe was lured in by an offer. He said he worked for Paul Kovacs. Kovacs loved casinos in Hungary. He was also a Russian stooge. To get money from the casino. He desired American markets. He hoped to expand the Russian mob’s money laundering in Las Vegas. Vo planned to go dark. She’d pose as a buyer. She was going to get drugs for cash. And Kovacs fell for her ruse as a big person in America. Vo enchanted Kovacs. He teased her. He made her a bargain. Meanwhile, the crew was checking on Kovacs. They discovered he was in the vicinity when Torok was murdered. Thus proving Thorpe’s story. He hadn’t done it. Thorpe was afraid and rushed away from his employer, who did the job. Vo was relieved her pal wasn’t a killer. She endorsed him. She had been proven correct, and all she had to do was close the deal with Kovacs. She later met Kovacs. He tried to steal her of $7 million. It turned out that the person he killed had cheated him out of money. This didn’t improve matters because Kovacs was already stealing from Russians. Kovacs needed the money to appease the Russians, so he attempted to rob Vo. Vo and Raines were able to turn the tables on their opponents. They escaped, and Europol was dispatched to apprehend Kovacs. Torok’s killer was also apprehended by the team. He passed away. Thorpe’s family was thanked by the team. He said he had no idea Kovacs was planning to rob them, thus he got away with it after assisting them in their arrests.
Vo followed him back to his hotel room in the casino. She received a call from Forrester instructing her to bring Thorpe in, but she was unable to do so because he had vanished. He wasn’t staying at the casino any longer. Thorpe was found to be embezzling funds.
Torok tried to blackmail him about it, so he told Kovacs that Torok was to blame, which led to Torok’s death. Thorpe then accused Kovacs of everything. By contacting Vo, he was able to quickly get rid of Kovacs. Thorpe was putting on a show for everyone. He even took on the role of a friend. Vo felt foolish for believing his lies. Thorpe was a white-collar worker. It was via this experience that he learned how to defraud people of their money. Thorpe was apprehended as he was flying out by the team, and he was charged with murder plot and embezzlement. As a result, Vo’s career was safe, but she will never have the same level of trust in another person as she did with Thorpe.
