According to the title, this is a “Hacktivist,” which suggests they seek something other than money. The hacker wants the police to look into psychiatric deaths. The case also gets personal. Jubal’s son is in one of the hospitals hacked by the hacker. This endangers Jubal’s son’s life. But it could spell high tensions. Because Jubal (Jeremy Sisto) takes things personally, he puts extra pressure on the squad. During the event, Isobel may be required to calm circumstances. FBI Season 4 Episode 1 Recap
The team is called in to investigate the death of a young woman who was slain on her way home after a wealthy party. The feds find Julia, 15, who confirms that Nicole used to send her to these parties where she earned money for sex. Crosby is dragged into the investigation because their inquiry takes them to a veteran, Kurt Williams. Kurt manages to flee after realizing he is being pursued, but not before shooting Crosby in the gut. LaCroix is enraged that Special Agent Bell brought Crosby in without her consent, causing his death. When the feds catch Kurt, he admits to killing Nicole and two others for $300,000. LaCroix announces that Crosby is alive!
He lied to get Kurt to tell the truth. The office staff learns that the operation’s mastermind is a billionaire named Nathan Tate. Unknown kidnappers take Julia, but the automobile explodes in flames before aid comes. But they find her in a warehouse, telling them about Sunny, Tate’s prisoner. She succumbs to her gunshot wounds seconds later. The agents finally corner Tate’s building and are about to arrest him when a gun rings out and Nathan Tate falls to the ground.
