Mel’s life is in danger in the season 4 finale of The Equalizer.
The upcoming season finale of THE EQUALIZER is called “Shattered,” and the stakes have never been higher as the team works together to save Mel from harm as she is kidnapped. The episode was written by Joe Gazzam and Rob Hanning and directed by Darren Grant.
The official Synopsis reads as “Shattered” – The team races against the clock after Mel is kidnapped by a member of her veteran support group and his older brother. Meanwhile, Dante is offered a position with the NYPD’s Special Investigation Unit in Los Angeles, on the fourth season finale of the CBS Original series THE EQUALIZER, Sunday, May 19 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*.
It starts with Mel, a member of the soldier support group, being taken by her older brother and another member of the group. The clock is ticking, and the team is racing against time to figure out who took Mel and bring them to justice. he team’s resolve is tested as the show goes on as they try to find their way through a web of danger and lies. The team has to do everything they can to make sure Mel gets back safely, even though they are upset and their friend’s life is in danger. Things didn’t end there, though. Fans wondered if Mel would make it out alive, and one another thing: would there be a Season 5 of The Equalizer?
Fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief because CBS has officially picked up the show for a second season. Even though there were early worries about the show’s future, its regularly high ratings secured its spot for Season 5. With more than 10 million watchers per episode on average, The Equalizer has shown that it can stay popular and keep people interested in its stories.
Thom Sherman, senior executive vice president of programming at CBS Entertainment, was thrilled that the show was renewed and praised the show’s great cast, led by the skilled Queen Latifah, as well as its great creative team. The Backstory of Melody ‘Mel’ Bayani
Melody “Mel” Bayani is portrayed by Liza Lapira on THE EQUALIZER. She used to be a shooter in the U.S. Air Force and now runs a bar that is used as a secret HQ. Robyn McCall and Mel have known each other since they were in the military. A lot of things happened in Mel’s past. She was sexually assaulted. In answer, her husband Harry got back at the abuser by messing with the abuser’s credit score and credit cards.
Mel’s last name, Bayani, comes from the Filipino language and means “Hero” in English. She and her family had to deal with racism, which made her even more determined to get ahead. Mel has three siblings: two brothers, and a sister. She is very close to her banker brother Edison and takes care of her brother Matthew who works abroad. Ruby is her sister. She is married, has kids, and takes care of their parents.
Mel has important stories in season four. In the fifth episode, “The Whistleblower,” she meets up with Matthew again, and with McCall’s help, they report the unethical behavior of his old unit. In the next episode, “Paradise Lost,” Mel is looking for a stranger she thinks knows where Edison is. When Edison goes missing, Mel’s partners have to put aside their differences and help look for him. In the show, Trevor Salter plays Edison, and Camille Mana plays Ruby, Mel’s sister who doesn’t like her. A lot of people are excited to see how Mel’s story develops in future episodes of THE EQUALIZER because she makes the show more interesting.
