The stakes are higher than ever as Fire Country Season 3 draws close. Two-part finale episodes 19 and 20 promise a lot of action, emotional turns, and new dangers for the crew of Three Rock and their loved ones. The finale episode, “I’d Do It Again,” comes after episode 19, “A Change in the Wind,” which was directed by the show’s star and creator, Max Thieriot (Bode Leone). Together, these two episodes mark the end of a season that was full of danger, drama, and tough emotional issues.
What to Expect Fire Country Season 3 Finale
The finale episode 19 starts with “A Change in the Wind,” which is about a gas station fire. Bode Leone and Manny Perez are firefighters, and today is just another day on the job… until it isn’t. There is real danger here because the flames are so hot. Bode and Manny act quickly to save the people who are trapped inside and stop the fire from spreading. Their skills and bravery will be put to the test as they try to save lives.
There’s more to this episode than just the fire, though. The effects of episode 18 are still felt today. Gabriela Perez is scared after learning that Finn, a man she briefly liked, is fixated on her in a dangerous way. He is now on the run after attacking Vince and running off into the woods. Photos of her that were taken without her knowledge were found in his basement. Gabriela tries to concentrate, but the thought of Finn watching her from outside keeps coming back to her.
At the same time, Jake Crawford is in a tough spot. After finding out that he won’t be getting promoted soon at Station 42, he was offered a job as battalion chief in Butte County. It’s a dream chance, but he has to leave the close-knit group of people he’s grown to love. Jake thinks about his choice while drinking whiskey with Vince. By the end of the night, he’s ready to give his two weeks’ notice. Is he really going to stop at Edgewater?
Episode 20: I’d Do It Again
The stakes are even higher in the second hour, called “I’d Do It Again.” Strong winds are fueling a huge wildfire that is moving toward Edgewater and poses a threat to Three Rock Camp and Walter’s care facility. The firefighters at Station 42 are working hard, but the whole town is in danger. It’s not just a fight to save buildings; it’s a fight to protect the people they love and the country they swore to protect.
This fire is important to Bode. This season has been tough for him. He’s had to deal with workplace bullies like Oxalta and figure out how he feels about Gabriela. When it comes to Gabriela, she’s still upset about Finn’s betrayal. Mandy, her dad, told her to keep her gun close, but she’s not sure she’s ready for that kind of danger. As the fire gets closer, she’ll have to get strong, not only to stay alive in the fire, but also to face the threats in her personal life.
Then there’s the matter of Bode and Gabriela. Fans have been rooting for them to get back together, but it hasn’t been easy for them. What do you think? Will the chaos of the ending bring them closer together or further apart? One thing’s for sure: by the time the credits roll, nothing in Edgewater will be the same.

Behind the Scenes: Max Thieriot Takes Charge
Max Thieriot, who plays Bode and helped make the show, directs the first hour of the finale, which makes it even more exciting. Every episode of Thieriot’s Fire Country shows how much he loves the show but fans really enjoy seeing him shape the story from behind the camera.
Max Thieriot told Good Housekeeping, “I directed the first hour of the finale.” “We filmed some really big and crazy action scenes that I was excited about. It’s a very exciting episode. We wrap up a lot of the season’s storylines. And of course, it wouldn’t be Fire Country without a huge fire and a big cliffhanger to lead into Season 4.”
Thieriot’s co-star Stephanie Arcila, who plays Gabriela, has said to tvinsider that working with actor-directors like him is great because they really get into the show’s heart and soul. “It’s like another day at work with them,” she said, “but we get to explore new creative paths together.”
A Time for Growth and Sticking It Out
The Fire Country crew has had a crazy season. From Bode’s smart defense of Oxalta’s shady actions to Jake’s growing responsibility as a leader, the characters have been put through tough situations that have tested their will. Gabriela’s story has been like riding a roller coaster. When her short relationship with Finn turned into a nightmare when she found out about his obsessive behavior, she had to face how weak she really was. Arcila thought about this turn of events and noted how it connects to problems in the real world. “It’s a way to make people aware,” she said. “People go through this, and we don’t always see the warning signs.”
The ending also builds on the emotional groundwork that episode 18 set. When Manny got out of jail, Gabriela and he shared a rare moment of happiness. It was a bright spot in their lives before Finn’s chaos turned them upside down. Jake’s decision to think about leaving Station 42 added to the tension, and Bode’s quick thinking helped make sure that the people of Edgewater got justice. These times of triumph and connection set the stage for the high-stakes drama of the finale.
