First look at Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in “Joker 2”

After much anticipation, director Todd Phillips has released the first look at Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in Joker: Folie à deux (Joker 2), and the response has been, well, “gaga.” Academy Award winner Joaquin Phoenix played DC Comics’ Arthur Fleck, one of the most convoluted villains, in the film of the same name. Though he’ll be back as the Joker, the spotlight is currently on Lady Gaga, and audiences can’t wait to see her. In case you missed it, the film starring Phoenix debuted in 2019. We have already seen the amazing Margot Robbie in this role in The Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey, and we can’t wait to see what Gaga achieves with this beloved comic book character.

Joker 2 director Todd Phillips and Lady Gaga shocked fans on Valentine’s Day by posting the first image of Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn to his Instagram account. Lady Gaga uploaded a photograph on Twitter that shows Harley and her boyfriend Joker together. They appear to be having a private conversation. In contrast to Phoenix’s cool demeanor, Gaga’s eyes burn with intensity. She wrote “Folie à deux” in the photo’s caption. People couldn’t contain their enthusiasm once Lady Gaga posted a photo of Joker 2.
