Forget You Not is a new heartfelt drama on Netflix. It is a Taiwanese show directed by the famous actress and singer Rene Liu. This is her first time back as a director, and she brings her storytelling skills to a very personal and emotional family story.
The story follows Cheng Le-le, played by Golden Horse-winning actress Hsieh Ying-xuan. By day, Le-le works at a convenience store. By night, she’s a stand-up comedian chasing her dreams. But life is anything but simple. She is torn between her career goals and the problems in her marriage to Wallace Huo’s character Chang Kai (Light the Night).
At the show’s center is Le-le’s relationship with her father, Chin Han, who plays Cheng Kuang-chi. The emotional stakes rise as her father’s health starts to get worse. The fragile memories of Le-le’s past and her responsibilities in the present, especially with her family, force her to face them. These emotional problems shape her path through love, forgiveness, and finding out what’s important again.
Tracy Chou and Esther Liu also play supporting roles in the drama. Fans can also look forward to special appearances by Wallace Huo, Wang Po-chieh, and Chen Yi-wen.
“Forget You Not” takes place in a busy city and uses that as a setting to look at family, connection, and memory across generations. The setting is modern, but the feelings are always the same.
Netflix released a teaser for the show, which shows the sensitive world of Cheng Le-le and how hard it is for her to keep her dreams alive while also staying close to her family. The teaser shows hints of powerful visuals, emotional stories, and strong acting.
