NBC‘s FOUND‘s suspenseful Season 2 debut sets the tone for a heart-stopping beginning as Gabi Mosely (Shanola Hampton) becomes embroiled in one of the most upsetting missing person cases to date. Resuming right after the devastating Season 1 finale, Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), the psychotic captor Gabi had been covertly imprisoning for nine months, escapes and begins a terrifying vendetta against Gabi’s colleagues at Mosely & Associates. This causes the tension to rise.
Gabi’s Chaos-Racked World
As the season opens, Gabi is in full panic mode, frantically attempting to get through to her coworkers who are in shock over the news that she kept Sir imprisoned in her basement. The majority of them are still accepting the awful truth and won’t pick up when she calls. Gabi is able to reach Dhan (Karan Oberoi) — who promptly alerts Margaret (Kelli Williams), sparing her from consuming a contaminated sandwich. As Dhan runs to Zeke’s (Arlen Escarpeta) residence, he finds him comatose and poisoned, having already consumed the infected food, proving that Sir is a real and current threat.
Dhan finds an incomplete resignation letter on Zeke’s computer — implying that he wants to leave Mosely & Associates, while he is phoning 911. Zeke makes it out alive, but it’s obvious that his faith in Gabi is broken.
Lacey Kidnapping
Gabi (Gabrielle Walsh) rushes to Lacey’s residence in the meantime, where she discovers that Lacey has vanished and there are evidence of a violent battle. Her team gathers in the workplace to devise a plan. Gabi’s activities disgust Detective Trent (Brett Dalton), who is now well aware of her sinister secret. Trent — who is furious, consents to let Gabi find Lacey for 72 hours before taking her into custody.
Citing a favorite novel, Gabi calls a news conference, determined to reach Sir. Though it’s a deliberate action, Sir doesn’t make eye contact. Instead, Gabi and her group follow a stolen vehicle to a trunk that holds hot water bottles, a mannequin, and the ominous note “NOT YET.” A copy of Richard Wright’s Native Son is also inside the trunk — indicating that Sir is playing them and enjoying every second of his retaliation.
Hints and Codes
Zeke has agoraphobia and is rehabilitating in the hospital. As a result, he has extreme anxiety. But he won’t give up on the squad, telling them that Lacey had known Sir would come for her one day. She was ready for the fight, therefore she had concealed guns all about her flat. Zeke comforts Gabi by telling her that Lacey “did not go quietly,” adding that their missing colleague fought hard to survive.
While searching for leads, the crew learns that Sir rented a holiday house using Dhan’s husband’s credit card. When they arrive, though, all they discover is Gabi’s clothes on fire and the mysterious word “oK” scrawled on a fogged-up bathroom mirror. Gabi initially thinks it’s just another one of Sir’s jokes, but then she realizes it’s actually from Lacey. The reference to “oK” denotes that Lacey is still alive because it alludes to the book Dot and the Kangaroo that Gabi and Lacey had read together.
Found S02E01 – Ending Explained! Sir’s Cold-blooded Plans
In the last seconds of the show, Gabi finds a public payphone by deciphering a string of Roman numbers concealed in Native Son. The phone rings just as she is about to give up, and she hears Sir’s icy voice on the other end: “Hello, Gabrielle.”
With his beard colored and his beard clean-shaven, Sir explains that his long-standing fixation with Lacey was always over Gabi. He was using Lacey as a means to achieve his ultimate goal. His darkest plot is only getting started, and Gabi confronts her biggest test yet because her closest allies are either emotionally or physically incapable of helping her.
It’s evident that Sir is playing a risky game and that Gabi’s previous deeds are tearing her world apart as FOUND makes a triumphant comeback with the season premiere.
