‘Accused’ Episode 5 [Robyn’s Story] What is About?

The intriguing crime-drama anthology receives another point for its topical episode, which was directed by Emmy Award-winner Billy Porter, who has won both the Tony Award and the Emmy Award for his work (Pose). The powerful and emotional tells the story of an accused drag queen named Robyn whose relationship with a closeted homosexual man leads to her being suspected of murder. Porter doesn’t rush through the parts in which Robyn excels as a drag performer, instead taking his time with scenes in which Robyn and her lover Jamie explore compassion and intimacy. The episode is not only packed with timely tales, but it also embraces Black queer happiness, which is rarely shown to the general public.  As the episodes go on, the viewers see how a seemingly normal person was swept up in a bizarre situation, and how a single, rash choice may change the trajectory of their lives and the lives of others around them. The episode was written by Daniel Pearle.
