Fx has released a new trailer for The Bear, a half-hour comedy starring Shameless alum Jeremy Allen White. In FX’s The Bear, White plays a fine dining chef who takes over his family’s failing restaurant.
FX Productions has been given a full series order and will broadcast in 2022. Jeremy Allen White, who starred in Shameless, has been cast as the lead in the comedy about a young chef who returns to Chicago to operate his family’s restaurant. Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Abby Elliott, and Liza Colón-Zayas will join White in key roles, while Edwin Gibson and Matty Matheson will recur.

The Bear Season 1 Plot
White stars as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, a brilliant young chef from the fine-dining world who is forced to return home to run his family sandwich shop — the Original Beef of Chicagoland — after a heartbreaking death in his family. A world away from what he’s used to, Carmy must balance the soul-crushing reality of trading in Michelin star restaurants for the small business’ kitchen filled with strong-willed and recalcitrant staff and his strained familial relationships, all while grappling with the impact of his brother’s suicide.
The pilot was written and directed by Christopher Storer. He’ll also serve as an executive producer alongside Super Frog’s Hiro Murai and Nate Matteson, as well as Joanna Calo and Josh Senior. Matty Matheson is a producer who works as a consultant.
