The Strain is FX’s high concept thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, former head of the Center for Disease Control, Canary Team in New York City. After he and his team were called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism, Eph and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers waged war for the fate of humanity itself.
Nine months have gone as the final season gets underway. The world has become completely dark, and the strigoi are in charge. An international nuclear holocaust was started by the explosion at the conclusion of season three. Following the nuclear winter, the strigoi were free to walk around during the day, which allowed the Master to impose a totalitarian government.
The Master and his minions have forged an unnerving partnership in “The Partnership,” preying on the anxieties of the population. Now that the majority of people are employed by the strigoi, they all operate under the same principle: cooperate or perish.
Each of them will have to overcome personal adversity and defy death for even the slightest chance of putting up a fight now that the world is in chaos and our heroes have broken up. The Master continues to rule supreme throughout this time, advancing his plan to bring about the end of the world as we know it.
