A big award has been lassoed by Yellowstone: Kevin Costner won the Golden Globe for outstanding actor in a drama series on Tuesday (Jan 10). Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul), Diego Luna (Andor), Jeff Bridges (The Old Man), and Adam Scott (Severance) were also nominated, but Costner won the award without being present. Abbott Elementary, White Lotus, The Bear, and Dahmer won Golden Globes. Star thanked Yellowstone fans, he stated, The viewers of our show are the most important people in the world because they treat Yellowstone Ranch like it’s their own. With more than 12 million viewers tuning in for the Yellowstone Season 5 premiere in November across all simulcasts and encores, Yellowstone has grown into a monster hit for Paramount Network. But the show hasn’t received many honors: in its five seasons, Yellowstone has only received one Emmy nomination (for production design in 2021), and Costner’s nomination was the first Golden Globe nomination for the show. For his work on Dances With Wolves, Costner won the Golden Globe for best director in 1991. For Hatfields & McCoys, he won again for best actor in a limited series in 2013. He received nominations as well for his work in the movies Dances With Wolves, JFK, and Tin Cup.
Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press and @goldenglobes for this tremendous honor and to the @Yellowstone team for bringing John Dutton’s world to life. I share this recognition with my castmates, the producers, and our incredible crew. pic.twitter.com/fjImNfMveo

The patriarch of a Montana ranching family named John Dutton is played by Costner in the Paramount Network drama. Luke Grimes and Wes Bentley portray John’s sons Kayce and Jamie, and Kelly Reilly plays John’s daughter Beth. The supporting cast is led by Gil Birmingham, Kelsey Asbille, and Cole Hauser. Executive producer and co-creator is Taylor Sheridan. Additionally, it served as the basis for a number of spinoffs on Paramount+, such as 1883 and the current Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren film 1923.
