Good Sam Season 1 Episode 8 Recap
Rob was relieved to learn that his reports were all clear, and Sam and Lex were relieved as well. Rob, on the other hand, wasn’t going down without a fight because he didn’t have a good reason for his current mental health troubles. Sam advised Rob to see a therapist after learning about his nightmares from Lex, and who better to recommend than Vivian’s current spouse Asher Pyne? Meanwhile, Sam and her crew were tending to a patient named Amy who had become ill and had vomited blood right in front of them. So she was taken to the hospital for surgery to see what was wrong with her, and it was revealed that her liver had been injured. But that was shocking because she claimed to have been sober for three years unless she was lying. However, they discovered that she had a rare disease that caused her body to produce its own alcohol, which was causing the increased alcohol in her blood.
Rob and Vivian Isan and Joey, on the other hand, were caring for an Indian patient, and Isan was a little delayed in responding to the primary doctor’s queries. It turned out that he had been doubting himself since the previous time he lost a patient. However, instead of Joey, the patient requested that Isan accompany him to his brain tumor surgery. Furthermore, the patient reassured Isan that he should have no doubts about himself because he embodies what a doctor should be. Moving on, Sam had already discovered that Rob’s issues were caused by PTSD and that the event that triggered it was her childhood accident. Vivian, on the other hand, deduced that the core cause was a secret she and Rob had been keeping from Sam since the day of his accident. Vivian eventually admitted that Rob was inebriated at the time of the accident, which is why she refused to admit him to the hospital. She then admitted to Sam that she did it to save his job and keep the hospital out of a scandal. Sam’s heart, however, had been broken. Meanwhile, Caleb validated his hunch concerning Amy, namely that her bladder was the source of the alcohol, which could be remedied. Finally, we see Sam meeting Caleb alone in the storeroom because she wanted to get intimate to distract herself from her bad day, and he obliged.
