Bailey (Chandra Wilson) returns from her mini-vacation to find the OR board a jumble of postponed and cancelled surgeries when the episode begins. She can’t even be away for two days without the hospital crashing. Link has found a new woman to dance with. Nick arrives at GSM and begins his first day while staying longer. Mer discovers that Webber has the munchies after drinking some of Catherine’s juice. Owen and Teddy consult with a therapist for guidance. Simon, Link’s patient, comes in with his pregnant wife, suffering from abdominal pain and still battling cancer. His wife is quite concerned. Mer understands Webber is high because he drank cannabis juice. Jo is juggling and manning all aspects of the hospital way too much right now. Because Simon has some general surgery issues, Jo and Link will work together on his case until they find another mast. Kristen is concerned that he will not live to meet their child. She’s a few months away from giving birth. Nick tries to win Bailey over by telling her that he can assist her in teaching the residents and getting the programme back on track. Maggie and Winston work with a lady who lied to her wife about her problems. Mer spends time with Webber and expresses her desire to depart. While she is on the phone, he sneaks away. When Bailey pushes Nick, he takes Levi through surgery. If he dies, Simon tells Link that he must persuade his wife not to name their child after him. Maggie sends Winston to chill off about the woman who lied to her wife about how sick she was, but she codes. Simon’s tumour has progressed too deep in his colon, and Jo is unable to operate on him, therefore he is still dying and may only live for a few weeks. They tell his wife, who wants to have the kid early so he may meet him before he dies, and Link says he’ll talk to someone else about it, despite Jo’s desires. Jo confronts him about becoming more emotionally invested in the case, and he lashes out at her for using and dumping him when she fell in love with Todd, and she admits that she needed him too much. Bailey expresses regret to Mer. Winston is ejected from surgery by Maggie. Winstont tells Maggie about his relationship with Wendeall and claims he’ll take care of it. Maggie requests to spend the night with Amelia. Because he isn’t feeling well, Link asks Amelia to look after Scout for the night. Bailey appreciates Levi’s help. it’s towards the very end of the show that Richard confronts Catherine (Debbie Allen) why she would ever bring cannabis into their home knowing that he’s a recovering addict. Catherine apologises for the juice and explains that her cancer is growing and that she has been drinking it for pain relief.
