Finally, when Luca hires Esme, Zoey’s boss, to steal her jacket design. Luca meant well, but by exposing Esme online and tagging Zoey in the post, he jeopardized Zoey’s (Yara Shahidi) internship to graduate. Someone captured a screenshot trying to control Zoey’s loss by asking Luca to delete the tweet, and the Internet of fury intensified. Zoey amplified her mistake in a live explanation video, prompting her followers to unfollow a fellow black woman for unfairly dragging her down. Of course, an embarrassed and irritated Esme devises a plan to dismiss Zoey. But before she can leave, Zoey picks up to return to Esme’s office and ask for her jacket and design.
Ana Torres (Francia Raisa) congratulates Zoey and applauds her for being able to fend for herself when she returns home, Zoey was uninterested in Anna’s advice and said she wanted to focus on the part where she advocated for herself.
