In the season 6 finale of “Grown-ish,” the show starts with Junior’s graduation ceremony but quickly changes its focus to the party afterward. Junior (Marcus Scribner), who wants one last memorable party with his friends. His plans are thrown off, though, when his new boss asks him to spend the day taking care of a client’s boat. Junior agrees, even though he is upset because he wants to make the best of it.
Aaron (Trevor Jackson), who recently had relationship problems with Zoey (Yara Shahidi), also decides to go with him to avoid her. Even though they didn’t mean to, their friends managed to turn the boat into a party spot. Junior is working hard to keep his boss from finding out about the illegal party. Surprisingly, his boss doesn’t mind the party because Junior officially did his job by taking care of the boat.
Throughout grown-ish, Zoey and Aaron’s relationship has been a rollercoaster of emotions, from the highs of love to the lows of misunderstanding. Zoey says she’s sorry for how she’s been acting and that she wants to change and be less selfish. After Zoey’s heartfelt apology and a rekindled spark, Aaron’s original proposal is back on the table. She asks Aaron if his offer is still good, and when he says it is, she shocks him by making an engagement instead. Along with their friends, they decide to get married right there on the boat.
Emily Arlook, Jordan Buhat, and Francia Raisa are some of the original cast members who come back for the end. Doug sends Jazz a text message telling her he misses her. In a surprising twist, grown-ish revisits Zoey’s past with Luca (Luka Sabbat) in the series finale. Luca, Zoey’s ex-boyfriend, makes an unexpected appearance via FaceTime, expressing his lingering feelings for her and advising her not to marry Aaron. He tells Zoey he loves her and tries to stop her from marrying Aaron by calling him a “pedestrian.” On the other hand, Zoey is shocked by Luca’s sudden announcement. Despite Luca’s heartfelt confession, Zoey stands firm in her commitment to Aaron, gently rejecting Luca’s advances. She kindly tells him they can stay friends. Zoey’s decision to prioritize her current relationship over past connections signifies her growth and maturity as she embraces her future with Aaron.
