St. Edward Catholic School in Nashville will no kept the popular Harry Potter book series from their school’s library.
In an email got by The Tennessean , the Rev. Dan Reehil of Nashville’s Catholic School said he consulted exorcists in the U.S. and Rome who recommended removing the books following an inquiry from a parent.
“These books present magic as both good and evil, which is not true, but in fact a clever deception. The curses and spells used in the books are actual curses and spells; which when read by a human being risk conjuring evil spirits into the presence of the person reading the text,” the email states.
Written by J.K. Rowling, the books was published between 1997 and 2007 .it was moved to a successful movie franchise and a huge following worldwide.
Hammel said she does think the Harry Potter books are still on the shelves in other school libraries throughout the diocese.
